The Importance of Upgrading to USB 3.1

ScanPro has you covered!

If you still use a ScanPro model with FireWire, you'll soon be unable to benefit from critical support features that keep your scanner running efficiently. To continue working with up-to-date and high-performing tools, you'll need to upgrade to one of e-ImageData's ScanPro 500 Series microfilm scanners and leverage USB 3.1 technology and other improvements.

ScanPro FireWire Support expires in December 2023

Microsoft plans to stop supporting Windows 10 Home and Pro in favor of Windows 11 by 2025. Because Windows 11 isn't compatible with most laptops and computers using FireWire technology, they will lose critical access to bug fixes and security updates.

Due to this change, as of December 2023, e-ImageData will no longer support FireWire ScanPro models, such as the ScanPro 700, 800, 1000, 1100, 2000 or 3000 FireWire model or any manufacturer's FireWire model. Without support, your scanners will not operate at peak performance, and you'll risk major impacts on your workflows.

To assist with upgrading, e-ImageData is proud to offer its loyal customers an upgrade opportunity that is easy on the budget. You can enjoy a new 500 Series scanner, complete with USB 3.1 capabilities. Beyond USB 3.1 compatibility, our 500 Series scanners include:

  • 35mm x 48mm image capture for oversized and large-format images
  • A new high-resolution camera
  • PRECISION-Guide film rollers to prevent scratches and scrapes on your microfilm
  • FOCUS-Lock™ technology to ensure continuous image focus, even during optical zoom

If you're a US customer currently using a ScanPro 700, 800, 1000, 1100, 2000, or 3000 FireWire model or any manufacturer's FireWire model, you are eligible for an upgrade at a discounted price. Reach out to our team to get started on your upgrade to the latest ScanPro technology.
