With the ScanPro® 2500, accessing Sedona’s history just became easier and more powerful
The Sedona Heritage Museum has taken a big step forward in preserving and sharing its rich local history. Thanks to the addition of the ScanPro® 2500 digital microfilm and microfiche reader, researchers can now explore historical archives with greater clarity and convenience than ever before.
This new equipment—made possible by the Sedona Historical Society’s annual fundraising campaign—replaces outdated technology and introduces advanced features that allow users to scan, save, and digitally enhance images right on-screen. From local newspapers like The Red Rock News to personal collections, the Museum’s archival resources are now more accessible and efficient to explore.
But the impact goes beyond Sedona. As part of an effort to digitize their archives, the Museum plans to upload scanned materials to the Arizona Memory Project, expanding public access to these invaluable records statewide and beyond.
Whether you're a local historian, visiting researcher, or someone with microfilm of your own, the Museum welcomes you to schedule time to use the new reader. The Sedona Heritage Museum is open daily from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 735 Jordan Road in Uptown Sedona.
It’s a new chapter in historical research—and a powerful reminder that even in a digital age, the stories of the past still matter.
